Is there any blockage to the radiator? is it filled up with bugs or other debris like dirt or mud, does the car have the shutters that can close in front of the radiator, are they working properly, i.e. They're throwing up their hands to the problem tells me they changed a bunch of parts and it did not fix the problem and they don't know what else to change. I would question that original shop as you said they fixed a crack in the head? I find it hard to believe that an independent shop would go to the trouble of welding an aluminum head to fix a crack, it would be cheaper to source a used head or even purchase a new head than it would be to weld a cracked head doing it right. This will be on top of the $3200 I just spent on the above repairs. Problem is local ford dealers are backed up in the shop and it's going to be 2-3 weeks before they can troubleshoot it and it's going to be at least $700 to start. ![]() The cooling system regulates engine temperature, and coolant, a mix of water and antifreeze, plays a vital role. The new Dye test doesn't show a leak anymore but the temp gauge is still acting weird and putting the car in a temporary limp mode for a few seconds. Last month replaced all 4 coil packs and spark plugs. Anyways, I didnt have time for a lengthly diagnosis so I threw all the extra coolant I had in the overflow tank. I am not new to 5.0s - have had a 93 5.0 fox for 6 years and still have it - but I am new to 94/95 SN 5.0s. The car is bone stock, I just bought it last week. Replaced Head gasket, fixed crack in head, valve job, new water pump, thermostat, coolant flush, coolant temp sensor, cylinder head temp sensor. Coolant low light comes on and as you can tell by the Temperature gauge, I just started out on an. my coolant temp light comes on shortly after starting the car,(minutes). i was told that the intake was a 76 so it might be a 76 motor. As you can see from the photo the cylinder head temps are much lower. just bought a 1971 mustang coupe with a 302. After full throttle pull temperature gauge shows hot, car goes into limp mode.
